Sistema Integrado de Informação da Unidade de Coordenação de Fronteiras e Estrangeiros (SII UCFE), com a informação sobre a situação de permanência irregular;
• Termina a situação de permanência irregular;
• São atualizados os registos associados;

A Voluntary Departure Notification (NAV) is an official communication by which AIMA, the GNR or the PSP (via the National Unit for Foreigners and Borders – UNEF) inform the person concerned that they are in an irregular stay situation and must voluntarily leave national territory within a defined period.
A NAV is not an expulsion or deportation, does not constitute a coercive removal measure, which has its own separate procedure under the law, nor does it, by itself, imply immediate or automatic departure from national territory.
You may receive a NAV when you are in an irregular stay situation, for example:
You may receive a Voluntary Departure Notification from AIMA when:
You must voluntarily leave Portugal within the period indicated in the notification, which may vary between 10 and 20 days, counted from the date on which you are deemed to have received it.
In exceptional situations, the period may be extended where there are duly justified grounds (for example, relevant family or personal reasons).
It means leaving Portugal on your own initiative, within the period indicated, without the need for coercive intervention by the authorities.
By complying with this deadline, you avoid the possible application of more serious measures, such as coercive removal.
The notification is recorded in official systems, including:
Integrated Information System of the Border and Foreigners Coordination Unit (SII UCFE), with information on the irregular stay situation;
Schengen Information System (SIS), through a return alert associated with the duty to leave and the deadline for doing so, valid for one year.
That alert is deleted when you cease to be in an irregular situation, namely if you prove that you have left Portugal and the Schengen Area, or if that departure is confirmed by the authorities (AIMA, PSP or GNR) or communicated by another Member State.
If you comply with the NAV:
If you do not comply with the NAV:
You remain in an irregular stay situation, unless, in the meantime, you have regularised your situation or there is a decision altering the effects of the NAV;
A coercive removal procedure may be initiated;
The records associated with the NAV remain in the official systems, namely SII UCFE and SIS.
You may challenge the NAV within the deadlines indicated in the notification itself, through:
Not necessarily. A NAV does not automatically prevent regularisation of your situation or a new entry into Portugal.
Each case is assessed individually, and other grounds provided for in the legislation in force may exist.
