What is the legal status applicable to UK nationals who are also family members of EU citizens?

The Withdrawal Agreement safeguards the residence rights of UK nationals and their family members who, due to Brexit, are no longer considered EU citizens.

If you are also a family member of an EU citizen, you must select the legal status that best fits your specific situation and proceed accordingly:

  • Beneficiary as a UK national under the Withdrawal Agreement (contact the Brexit Line);
  • Family member of an EU citizen (contact AIMA’s Contact Centre).
