What documents must be included in the application for document regularisation?

UK nationals and their family members who are legally resident in the country before the end of the transition period must provide the following evidence:

  • Valid passport;
  • Document proving legal residence – European Union Registration Certificate issued by the City Council and/or European Union Certificate of Permanent Residence issued by SEF;
  • Proof of family relationship (marriage certificate; birth certificate or proof of stable union prior to 31st December 2020);
  • Residence permit, under the Withdrawal Agreement, of the holder of the right;
  • Proof of service provided (electricity, water, etc. for 2020).

UK nationals and their family members without legal residence in national territory before the end of the transition period (31st December 2020) must present the following means of proof:

  • A statement from the UK national and his/her family member, requesting to be included in the Withdrawal Agreement, in order to be granted legal resident status, in the case of a UK national and/or his/her family member who are in an irregular documentary situation;
  • Valid passport;
  • Boarding pass;
  • Travelling ticket;
  • Proof of family relationship (marriage certificate; birth certificate or proof of stable union prior to 31st December 2020);
  • Residence permit, under the Withdrawal Agreement, of the holder of the right (if applicable);
  • Bank statement with movements in Portugal during 2020;
  • Employment or service contract;
  • Residence permit, under the Withdrawal Agreement, of the holder of the right (if applicable);
  • Bank statement with movements in Portugal during 2020;
  • Employment or service contract;
  • Certificate of deductions made for Social Security (SS);
  • Proof of registration with the Tax and Customs Authority (ATA) (2 pages);
  • Proof of service provided (electricity, water, etc. for 2020).
