UK nationals and their family members who resided in Portugal during the transition period, until 31 December 2020, and who acquired the right of residence under Law No. 37/2006 of 9 August, in its current wording, and who have maintained that status (stay/residence) in Portugal continuously until the date of the request.

Family members of beneficiaries under the Withdrawal Agreement are considered to be:
Spouse or partner in a situation analogous to marriage, who is already present in Portugal and has a durable and stable relationship predating the end of the transition period and continuing until the date of the request;
Direct ascending relatives who are dependent and already present in Portugal;
Direct descendants, dependent or legally adopted (under 21 years old), already present in Portugal.
